Puffle Sugar Cookies!
A fun way to have more puffles! Make sure you get a parent to help you.
INGREDIENTS
1 cup confectioners’ sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup white sugar 1 teaspoon lemon extract
1 cup softened butter 4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup vegetable oil 3 ½ teaspoon baking powder
2 eggs 1 teaspoon salt
* ½ cup white sugar for decoration
DIRECTIONS
*Make sure your parent helps you with these!
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (177 degrees C).
- Grab a mixing bowl and sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a second bowl, mix the butter, oil, confectioners’ sugar, and 1 cup of white sugar until they’re all blended together really well. After that, stir in the eggs, vanilla extract, and lemon extract.
- Mix the dry ingredients from the first bowl, 1/3 at a time, into the second bowl until things are well blended.
- Now roll the dough into walnut-sized balls. Place the cookies 2 inches (50 cm) apart onto a baking sheet.
- Dip the bottom of a drinking glass in sugar, then use it to flatten the balls of dough into 1/4 inch (6-7 mm) thick cookies.
- Now that your cookies are flat, it’s time to shape them into puffles! Get help and use a butter knife to cut out little triangles along the top to make its hair.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before moving to a wire cooling rack. Let them cool completely.
- Once they’re cool, share them with your buddies!
