Favorite Sport and Rockhopper’s Items - Reviewed by You :)

This Message is from Billybob:

Hello Penguins!
It's going to be sweet to see red, blue and green teams all over the island tomorrow when the new Sport catalog comes out! Last week we asked you to talk about your favorite sport on the island. Avril51 said:
I love playing ice hockey at the rink! It's really fun playing it with my buddies. We are always on the red team, but the blue team rocks too! It's also fun watching and cheering both teams on! Rock on CP!

Being on a team is cool. Can't wait to see if any green teams get going....
Today in Club Penguin, if you look through the telescope you'll see Rockhopper's Migrator's on its way. For this week's Reviewed By You, we'd love to know - What's the most awesome thing you ever remember Rockhopper bringing?
Please keep your answers between 50 - 75 words.
Until then...Waddle on!

MIGRATOR SPOTTED IN TELESCOPE!

Lighthouse attendants have confirmed sightings of Rockhopper’s ship in the telescope. “By my calculations, he’s about a week away,” one penguin explained. “That means he’ll be here in time for The Fair!”

“Some penguins may not know this, but Rockhopper brought all the decorations and games for the very first fair. But he’s never stayed to celebrate.”

A puffle trainer told us, “Rockhopper left me some instructions last time he was here, and I can tell you he’s got something very exciting planned.”

Crowds of penguins have already begun to gather at the Beach, where the Migrator is expected to dock, September 4, 2009

…After reading Club Penguin Times I waddled up to the Beacon and had a look…YES! I can see the Migrator :)

This is from The Club Penguin Times: FAIR-LY EXCITED! September 4-13, 2009 The Fair is coming to Club Penguin! This yearly celebration sees special games and prizes set up all over the island. This will be the third fair the island has seen, and expectations are rising.

We interviewed penguins in Town who remembered last year’s celebration to find out what we can look forward to!

“We had fun playing games and winning tickets which we swapped for prizes,” one penguin explained.

“There were games where we fed puffles, bounced them with paddles and helped them pop balloons!

We played in ball pools and on carousels, and wore clown suits and feathered tiaras!”

“I ate so much popcorn I thought I was going to explode,” another recalled fondly.

Get ready to play games, earn tickets and much, much more. Join in the fun at The Fair, September 4-13!

RECIPES

CANDIED APPLES

Wooden spoon
Wax paper
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup corn syrup
4 apples
4 ice-pop sticks
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon red food coloring

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Wash apples, remove the stem and insert the ice-pop stick where the stem used to be.

2. Parent or Guardian Needed: Put the sugar, water, and syrup into the saucepan and stir on medium heat until mixture boils (about 8-10 minutes), then let boil for 15 minutes.

3. Remove the pan from the stove and stir in the food coloring.

4. Dip each apple into the hot syrup mixture, keeping fingers a safe distance away.

5. After you dip each apple, set it on a wax sheet of paper.

6. Let the apples cool for about an hour, then dig in!

ARTS AND CRAFTS

MEMORY CARD GAME

YOU WILL NEED

A parent or guardian, scissors, a ruler, a pencil, markers and a sheet of paper.

INSTRUCTIONS

Draw 4 rows of 6 squares on a sheet of paper using a ruler. Draw two of each items below in the squares, one item per square.

Black puffle on fire
Bag of coffee beans
Mullet
Fluffy
Ping puffle jumping rope
Slice of pizza
Mine Cart
Surfing red puffle
Bubble blowing purple puffle
Ball bouncing blue puffle
Jet Pack
Green puffle with propeller cap

When you’re done, have a parent or guardian help cut out each square to make 24 cards. Now you’re ready to begin playing!

HOW TO PLAY

1. Look away, then ask a friend to lay the cards out with pictures facing down, making 4 rows with 6 cards.

2. Once the cards are in place, pick any card and turn it over. Now try taking your best guess at where its match is hidden!

3. If the next card you turn over is not a match, put both cards back face down and try again.

4. When you find a matching pair, leave both cards face up so you know you’ve already found that pair.

5. Keep going until you’ve found all the pairs, then let your friend try. When you get good, time yourself, then try beating your record!

PUFFLE PITCH

The object of the game is to throw a ball or puffle through different sized holes in a game board for maximum points!

YOU WILL NEED

A parent or guardian, a large sheet of cardboard, scissors, markers and 3 tennis balls or puffles.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Cut 3 holes in the sheet of cardboard. One hole twice as big as the tennis balls or puffles you are using, one that is three times as big, and one that is four times as big.

2. Use markers to write ‘20 points’ above the small hole, ‘10 points’ above the medium hole, and ‘5 points’ above the large hole.

3. Decorate the game board by drawing your favorite Fair decorations wherever they fit. Remember, bright colors are a must!

HOW TO PLAY:

Take your game board outside along with the tennis balls or puffles and lean it against sturdy surface (tree, shed, wall).

Back up 6 steps from the game board, then try throwing the tennis balls or puffles through the holes to score as many points as possible!
