How to Fix Club Penguin login Problem CHEATS :)

Today I have spent most of my time offline and when I went online again I STILL couldn't connect to Club Penguin as an effect of the Domain Problem…for me Club Penguin is NOT working Club Penguin is Down! Okay I have had ENOUGH! If I end up with that Clown or Golfer one more time I will SCREAM!! I want to login and Play Club Penguin! I decided to find a solution to solve the Club Penguin website problem…and…HURRAY! Now I can Login to Disney Club Penguin again Club Penguin is working BUT not with my usual DNS instead I used Google’s Public Dynamic Name Server :)

What is Google Public DNS?

Google Public DNS is a free, global Domain Name System (DNS) resolution service, that you can use as an alternative to your current DNS provider.

Why should you try Google Public DNS?

Besides that this might make it possible for you to access clubpenguin.com it can speed up your browsing experience according to Google.

What IP should I use?

For Google Public DNS configure your network settings to use the IP addresses 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as your DNS servers.

If Google Public DNS does not work you can try OpenDNS that has these IP addresses: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220. just follow the instructions below :)

What can go wrong?

If you do this wrong you might not be able to connect to the Internet. If this happens there is help to get from Google Public DNS telephone support
•877-590-4367 in the U.S.
•770-200-1201 outside the U.S.

I recommend that you keep this blog post open all the time in your web browser and also download this PDF document and print it, in the event that you encounter a problem and need to get help from these instructions.

Instructions to configure DNS :)

Before you change your DNS settings to use Google Public DNS, be sure to write down the current server addresses or settings on a piece of paper. It is very important that you keep these numbers for backup purposes, in case you need to revert to them at any time.

How to Change DNS server settings on Microsoft Windows 7 :)

1. Go the Control Panel. Click first on the Windows Icon…

…Then on Control Panel :)

2. Click Network and Internet

…then Network and Sharing Center

…and click Change adapter settings :)

3. Select the connection for which you want to configure Google Public DNS. For example:

  • To change the settings for an Ethernet connection, right-click Local Area Connection, and click Properties.
  • To change the settings for a wireless connection, right-click Wireless Network Connection, and click Properties.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

4. Select the Networking tab. Under This connection uses the following items, click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), and then click Properties.

5. Click Advanced

…and select the DNS tab :)

…If there are any DNS server IP addresses listed there, write them down for future reference, and remove them from this window.

6. Replace those addresses with the IP addresses of the Google DNS servers: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

Click on Add and enter 8.8.8.8 and click on Add…

…Click on Add and enter 8.8.4.4 and click on Add…

…Then click on OK :)

…Click on Validate settings upon exit and then on OK :)

7. Restart the connection you selected in step 3. Select first Disable…

…then Enable :)

8. Test that your setup is working correctly; see Testing your new settings below :)

Testing your new settings

Try now to visit http://www.clubpenguin.com and see if it works. If not test that the Google DNS resolver is working:

  1. From your browser, type in a hostname, such as http://www.google.com. If it resolves correctly, bookmark the page, and try accessing the page from the bookmark. If both of these tests work, everything is working correctly. If not, go to step 2.
  2. From your browser, type in a fixed IP address. You can use http://18.62.0.96/ (which points to the website http://www.eecs.mit.edu/) as the URL. If this works correctly, bookmark the page, and try accessing the page from the bookmark. If these tests work (but step 1 fails), then there is a problem with your DNS configuration; check the steps above to make sure you have configured everything correctly. If these tests do not work, go to step 3.
  3. Roll back (restore) the DNS changes you made and run the tests again. If the tests still do not work, then there is a problem with your network settings; contact your ISP or network administrator for assistance.

Then you might need to clear your cache  If all goes well you may be able to play Club Penguin online again :)

After a few days you can restore the settings to what it was before but if it works good you can keep them. If you want to know if the new settings are quicker or slower you can restore the settings and then run the DNS Benchmark and compare your default ones with the Google Public DNS or OpenDNS and see what is quickest :)

For Windows Vista it is almost the same instructions as with Windows 7 so you should have no problem to fix that if you follow the Walkthrough Guide :)

For Windows XP click on Windows start at the bottom left, then click on Control Panel, double click on Network Connections, right-click on Local Area Connection and click on Properties, click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), click on Properties, follow the steps 5-8 above as they are the same as in Windows 7 :)

If you need help to configure Mac OS X or Linux see Google's instructions here.

When can I start to play Club Penguin again?

I can’t Login to Club Penguin Please HELP! Hurray! I can Login to Club Penguin and Play :)

Why can some Penguins Play Club Penguin online game and some not right now? It’s because of Club Penguin’s “Technical Problem” with the Domain!

Whose fault is this Domain Problem? It is Disney Club Penguin’s fault as THEY should have paid their renewal fee for the Domain in time!

I’m a PAYING Member Will I get compensated for this? Many rumors are circling around BUT Yesterday I sent an email to Club Penguin and asked about that…so far they have NOT replied so for now I don’t know for sure…UPDATE: From CP Support June 21, 2011, I have added a week of membership to your account, Saraapril, to make up for the time you were unable to access Club Penguin. (I am STILL Unable to Play Club Penguin but Thanks :)

Will the Music Jam Party 2011 be extended so that I get a chance to find Cadence and Penguin Band? Again I have not got any answer from Club Penguin…UPDATE: From CP support June 21, 2011, I am happy to tell you that we will be extending the Music Jam for a few days.

When can I start playing Club Penguin again?

This can take several hours or several days.

What can I do? If the Domain updates haven't reached your Internet service provider there is NOTHING YOU can do!

Will it help to clear the Flash player cache or reinstall Flash player?

There is no need to do that unless you have other problems with the Flash player.

Will it help to clear my web browser cache?

After the Internet service provider is updated you might need to clear the web browser cache and possibly flush DNS (Domain Name System) as described below.

Why Flush DNS?

When you make a change to a domain (like clubpenguin.com) this information must be spread all over internet to root servers, ISPs (Internet Service Provider) and so on.

How long does domain propagation take?

Domain propagation takes between 36 to 72 hours generally. Sometimes less, sometimes a bit more.

When your local ISP has been updated it might take up to about 24 hours for your computer to learn about the change.

BUT There is one way to speed this up on your computer :) You can flush DNS or clear the DNS cache.

How to Flush DNS in Microsoft Windows?

In Microsoft Windows, you can use the command ipconfig /flushdns to flush the DNS resolver cache. Open the Command Prompt by either pressing the Windows key + R and enter cmd and press OK…

…or click on the Windows button and enter command prompt…

…click on Command Prompt…

…and type the following:

C:>ipconfig /flushdns

How to Flush DNS in Mac OSX?

In Mac OSX Leopard, you can use the command dscacheutil -flushcache to flush the DNS resolver cache:

bash-2.05a$ dscacheutil -flushcache

In Mac OSX versions 10.5.1 and before, the command lookupd -flushcache performed the same task:

bash-2.05a$ lookupd –flushcache

How to Flush DNS in Linux?

In Linux, the nscd daemon manages the DNS cache. To flush the DNS cache, restart the nscd daemon. To restart the nscd daemon, use the command `/etc/init.d/nscd restart`.

After you have flushed DNS you can clear the cache of the web browser you use.

What can you do if you like me have done all this BUT STILL can’t Play Club Penguin? Nothing we just have to Wait…Sigh…

Note to Disney Club Penguin: The Domain name will expire June 13, 2012 can you make SURE to PAY that Fee in time?
