$10,000 Light a Village Challenge

Thanks to the generosity of Club Penguin, a virtual world created for kids, guided by an unwavering commitment to safety and creativity, I am thrilled to announce the $10,000 Light a Village Challenge. Together, Club Penguin and Little Women for Little Women in Afghanistan, have created a fundraising initiative that will provide, if reached, literacy opportunities for girls and women in Afghanistan.

For fifty days, Little Women for Little Women in Afghanistan will be challenging everyone to help us raise $10,000. This money will be matched by Club Penguin in support of reaching our goal of helping pay for the building and implementation of education projects in a library we are supporting in a rural village in Afghanistan. I am so excited that we have this opportunity to participate in this great fundraising challenge. Over the years, Little Women have become very passionate about library projects being instigated in Afghanistan, as we see them as such an easy and effective way to promote literacy in rural villages. By empowering the community to create their own learning facilities, Afghan women and girls are given the opportunity to read and write. I will always believe that education is the only way to peace and we can do this one village at a time.

This is very nice of Disney/CP. Many women and girls are not allowed to go to school and learn, instead they are seen as servants and slaves or just a waste of space ( which I find very offensive, being a girl.). This is a bright new opportunity for many female people everywhere.
