They come in peace :) Let’s welcome our visitors!

They come in peace :)

First contact made with alien puffles. By Jet Pack Guy — Attention citizens of Club Penguin! The following is an announcement of the highest priority. We are not alone. I repeat: We are not alone. Alien life has been discovered. Or rather, it discovered us.

Two weeks ago at zero-five-hundred hours, Herbert P. Bear contacted the EPF. He claimed Klutzy the Crab was beamed up by an unidentified flying object. For obvious reasons, Herbert P. Bear was not included. Thanks to EPF agents, Klutzy was recovered. The alien puffles are peaceful. Now the spacecraft is in danger of crashing. Herbert P. Bear stole the UFO’s power supply. I urge all citizens to remain calm. The EPF plans to stabilize the vessel before it falls to Earth. Brave agents work on this as we speak. We are evacuating all alien puffles. Citizens are asked to adopt a puffle and bring it to a safe home. Keep a watchful eye, agents. We must discover Herbert’s plan for the power supply.

Let’s welcome our visitors!

Encounters of the adorable kind. By PH — Wowza! Who ever thought there was life beyond the stars? This changes everything we know about puffles! They sure are unique creatures — and cute too! I was expecting them to have some kind of sticky tentacles. They might be a wee frazzled about their ship acting wonky, but they’re really a brave lot. And I reckon they’re awfully curious to have come all this way to explore Club Penguin. I’m sure our new mates would love to be shown around our igloos. What a discovery that will be for them!Crikey, they’ll even get to make friends with all kinds of puffles! I bet they’ll really get along with brown puffles. They both love to create crazy technology! Y’know, they’re gonna fit in really well here. Just remember, this might seem weird to them until they adjust. After all, to them we’re the aliens!

How do you play Pizzatron in candy mode? – Pinknoel9
So you’re looking to satisfy your sweet tooth, Pinknoel9? Well, I know the way to activate Candytron 3000! When you’re on the menu for Pizzatron 3000, you’ll see a lever off to the side of the hot sauce. Click on the lever and it will turn to candy mode! I wonder who it is ordering these strange pizzas. They can’t all be going to Rookie... right?

Dojo Design - By Aunt Arctic — Wow, this is such a detailed portrait of the traditional Dojo! It’s great to see pictures that capture the island’s history. The Dojo has undergone many changes with Card-Jitsu Fire, Water, and Snow. It’s so nice to look back on it. Excellent job showing the wisdom and mystery of our ninjas’ home base. I’m sure Sensei will smile approvingly when he sees this.

Secrets Classified What Was That Space Rock?

By Gary - If I were to make an educated guess, I would say the space rock is a solid containment device that uses chemical energy to produce electrical energy. That is to say: it’s a battery. A very, very powerful battery unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Surely Herbert can’t be trusted with such an apparatus! I’m not even certain of how we could replace it for our alien friends. This will require more than the two AA batteries powering EPF Headquarters!

AREA 501! Klutzy the Crab :)

AREA 501!

A new gated community? By Rumor Reporter — Have you heard the rumors? Alien encounters? Tin foil hats appearing out of nowhere? Well we thought there was something more to these conspiracy theories, and it looks like the truth is right inside Area 501.

We’ve heard reports of Jet Pack Guy flying around, and even some polar bear sightings! But lately, the stories coming from all over the island have been out of this world. I say your best bet to discover the truth is to investigate. Make sure to take good notes. When we interviewed Aunt Arctic about all of it, she said, “No comment.” She was nice and all, but I have a few theories about her, too.... Get the scoop and report back!

Klutzy the crab!

In with the wrong crowd. This is a general public service announcement. The Club Penguin Times has been asked (by anonymous sources) to have everyone on the lookout for a very specific crab. Klutzy the Crab is the known sidekick and accomplice of Herbert P. Bear—a villain who has plagued the island with evil plans for years. Klutzy may not be as dangerous as Herbert—there have been eye-witness accounts that he enjoys dancing and puffles. If you spot him around, please be resourceful, be remarkable, and be ready. He is the subject of an ongoing investigation.

Some of my friends like peanut butter but some hate it, do you like it? – Perunamuu
Hello Perunamuu, Such an interesting question and well timed! I was just thinking I need to better hide my peanut butter. My puffle, Scone, has been undoing lids and helping himself to rather large portions of snacks lately. Indeed I enjoy peanut butter, but likely wouldn’t eat the whole jar at one time like Scone. I prefer it with jam, chocolate, or as a treat when Sensei visits for tea.

Time for a wish! Well done, Emma58! I had this up on my computer when a few of my friends were visiting the Club Penguin Times office the other day. There were a lot of “ooohs” and “awwws”. Dot appreciated the lovely dress design, and Rookie especially enjoyed the wishing star in the back. In fact, I heard him wish for an extra large tuna sandwich on rye with mustard! I personally love the way that you’ve used the dramatic background to make your art feel special and important. Keep up with your creative work!

Extreme Paint Festival! Sensei's Past!

Extreme Paint Festival!

Gimme an E, gimme a P, gimme an F! By Rookie — An exciting new event has come to the Dock. The EXTREME PAINT FESTIVAL! You can throw paint all over the place and have a blast. Nothing else going on around there. Just this awesome artistic mini-event!

Come by and get creative. You could even paint the big metal wall that’s there. That might help it stand out less! So far, I’ve painted my pet rock, another penguin, and my own lunch! Now my squid and mustard sandwich looks too good to eat! Alright, that covers everything. This is Rookie, signing off. Sign off!

Sensei's Past!

A beard that long means a mysterious past. By Aunt Arctic — Many have spoken to Sensei, or even faced him in a Card-Jitsu duel, but there is still a great deal of mystery about this grey penguin. I know I’ve always been curious about his past, but he’s very tricky to interview. He’s the only one that has ever answered me with a haiku! We know he has been on the island for a very long time. He first appeared after a snowstorm, when he dug out the Dojo and began training ninjas. When Tusk appeared, we all learned more of his past. Sensei and Tusk had trained together (along with other ninjas) when they were young. A tragic accident left Tusk stranded deep in ice caves, and it turned him into the villain we know today. But there is still much I don’t know. What other challenges did he face between his training and becoming a Card-Jitsu master? If any ninjas have more luck than me, let me know! I’d love to hear what you find out.

Did you find out more about the Penguin Medics? – Slippy82266
I did! Some may remember that reader Mirissa2406 brought the Penguin Medics to my attention. Well, she wrote back with more info. She sounds like quite the reporter. The Penguin Medics are similar to the Rescue Squad because they help penguins who are in trouble or sick. They like to use natural medicines, and they try to keep the environment clean. Mirissa2406 also tells me that they’re very secretive. Well, that explains why I’m only just hearing of them!

Herbert behind Robot Rampage! Best Buds Interview!

Herbert behind Robot Rampage!

Ruining a perfectly good Halloween. By Aunt Arctic — Breaking news! Our Halloween woes were caused by that persistent villain, Hebert P. Bear! When the robots started acting strange, Gary was convinced his programming wasn’t to blame. Now we know.

Thanks to the actions of one of Gary’s assistants, we discovered the true cause—that nefarious bear! The details around the confrontation with Herbert are still under wraps by the EPF, but I have learned that he didn’t just reprogram Gary’s bots. He also created an enormous Herbot! Herbot was defeated, but in the scuffle, Herbert and his sidekick Klutzy the Crab escaped. I have been assured that the EPF is on high alert and will be tracking Herbert down. If you see any signs of him, make sure you shout out. The EPF will be on the scene immediately.

Best Buds Interview!

Rookie puts the tough questions to JPG. Rookie: Hiya JPG! What’s the awesomest thing you’ve done today? I mean other than everyday EPF awesomeness. JPG: Hello Rookie. It’s been busy. Rookie: Okay, first question. Well, second maybe? I don’t know. Is it the first or second? JPG: That was the second. Rookie: Right, so...third question? What’s your favorite food? JPG: Is this the “really important project” you needed help with? Rookie: Ya! You’re helping me with this interview, buddy! JPG: <sighs> Okay. Hardtack. It packs well. Never goes bad. Rookie: What is that? It sounds really cool. Hmm. What else should I ask? JPG: Your last question... please. Rookie: That’s it! Why didn’t you guys want me to talk about the secret EPF radar project? JPG: Stand back, Rookie. Rookie: He flew away! Must’ve had an important mission. This is Rookie signing off. Sign off!

Island Rumors :)

TINFOIL HATS - By Rumor Reporter – A few tinfoil hats have been spotted around the island, and sources from the Clothes Shop are baffled. There are lots of rumors floating around, but here’s what some (mostly) reliable sources think about the mysterious, new hats:
Pizza Boss: “If you’ve got cold pizza and you’re in the sun, you can totally use that for an energy-efficient heater. Such a useful item!”
Shopper: “I personally think a boa is a better option if you’re going for wardrobe diversity...”
Rookie: “Tinfoil hats mean ALIENS. Or someone ran out of little plastic baggies and had to use that to wrap their sandwiches in.”
So there you have it. If you see someone wearing one of these tin lids, please ask them where they got it!

Everyone is getting a bad wi-fi connection around the island. What’s going on?

Ask Aunt Arctic :)

Why are there viking hats? – Cupcake34496
Viking hats are treasured items on Club Penguin, no matter what color they come in. With their iconic horns, these helmets are a great way to identify yourself as a viking. It’s not clear if there were vikings on Club Penguin before modern times. However, some explorers discovered the Hall of the Viking Lords on Shipwreck Island during Rockhopper’s Quest 2012. I wonder if those “viking lords” brought their helmets over in the olden days?

Fan Art by Pinkie7031 :)

Eeep! It’s frightfully good. By Aunt Arctic — This is a marvelous drawing, Pinkie7031. You’ve done a great job with Fear’s expression, and you’re spot on with the outfit. It looks like he’s trying to return a core memory, just like we did for Rockhopper this past July. I hope he gets it back safe and sound. Captain Rockhopper was completely out of sorts while his core memories were missing!

Secrets Classified Puffle Launch :)

By PH - G’day Mates! Want to blast your puffle into the skies and collect Puffle O’s? Ace! Head to the Pet Shop and keep in mind:
• Some obstacles can help ya out! If you want the fastest time, aim for the nearest cactus, and see where it shoots ya!
• If you’re in a cannon that’s spinning around, shoot off in a random direction. Ya might wind up skipping some cannons!
• Don’t worry about your puffles getting splinters! Their helmets will keep ’em safe.
Keep practicing, and you’ll get the hang of it in no time. Just watch out for a certain nasty crab!

Brave Penguins Face Fears! Night of the Living Sled Reviewed!

Brave Penguins Face Fears!

The spelling on that test is terrible! By Aunt Arctic — The island has been extremely frightening this Halloween. The wild robots are everywhere and scaring everyone! Thankfully, the citizens of Club Penguin have rallied to turn the tables... POWER DOWN

Gary built the robots to resemble the famous penguins in every aspect possible. When they started going haywire, he discovered that they were also scared by the same objects as the real penguins. So, that vile Aunt Arctic Bot is quite put off by terrible spelling just like me! Once the robots have been scared, they stay still long enough to be deactivated... if you're brave enough to go near them! We know there are still some robots unaccounted for. I expect they'll be jumping out to scare us very soon. Best of luck to all the courageous robot deactivators! Halloween Party 2015 CHEATS Club Penguin!

Night of the Living Sled Reviewed!

The unrelenting Living Sled chases the heroes. By CP Times Film Critic — Since its first showing in 2007, Night of the Living Sled has been a favorite at Halloween. But it’s more than just a scary movie. If you haven’t seen it, a mad scientist brings a toboggan to life on a stormy night. The creature escapes its bonds and chases after innocent bystanders. No matter what they try, they are never able to outrun the ominous sled! The impact of this film can’t be ignored. Gary the Gadget Guy is the resident sled-head (the name for fans of the movie). He says, “Night of the Living Sled is spectacularly awesome. The best snowtop chase scene ever filmed!” If you, like me, are dying to watch the show, check it out at the Lighthouse until Nov. 4. Why did you name your black puffle Herbert? – Purple020
I suppose I can't resist a little joke. Black puffles are known for being a bit grumpy, so I named mine after the very grumpy bear, Herbert. But, unlike the bear, my puffle is quite well-behaved. And he's quite pleasant to be around. I do get a chuckle at having a little Herbert I can feed O'berries to and take for walks to the Puffle Park. It's especially funny when my puffle gets into a mood and storms off for a bit. It's exactly like Herbert!

Robots go Berserk!? Ghosts of Halloween Past!

Robots go Berserk!?

This wasn’t in the designs! By Gary the Gadget Guy — Gadzooks! My robots have gone completely rogue! They were only meant to give helpful information, but they’ve run off! I never imagined their programming would allow this. If you see one, be cautious. They’re not safe and we have to deactivate them!

The Gary Bot has been sighted in the Mine Shack, and his behavior is very unscientific! This is extraordinarily alarming! I’ve heard the robots have been sneaking up on penguins, especially while they look at laptop screens. Several brave assistants and I are going to test a theory to see if we can stop them. We will use specific stimuli to cause a phobic feedback overload! That is, we can scare these robots into shutting down.If you’d like to participate, meet outside the School. And keep an eye out for any clues as to how this all happened!

Ghosts of Halloween Past!

The most adorable haunting. By PH the Puffle Handler — G’day mates! The mysterious ghost puffles have reappeared at the Dock. They had a terrifyingly terrific time during last year’s Halloween Party, and they’re back for more happy haunts. Unlike other visitors, these ones are welcome. Last Halloween, Gariwald VIII, Gary’s ghostly great uncle, was investigating the haunting of the Puffle Hotel. He thought they might have been the culprits, but the ghost puffles were innocent, of course! It was a nasty ghost named Skip that was causing trouble. They can be very mischievous and play lots of pranks, but ghost puffles are also protective. You and your penguin pals will be safe with these floating friends around. Members can adopt them until the end of the party, when they’ll disappear.

What are the items behind glass in the Clothes Shop? – Plattypus81
Good eye, Plattypus81! Those are the most treasured items in the Clothes Shop’s collection. They are from the early days of Club Penguin, and they’re prized for their historic value. With those, we can see how fashions have changed. They may not be as trendy now, but it’s great to have a little piece of our history up on display.

Fan Art by Sylve365!

It's aliiiiiiive! By Gary the Gadget Guy — Syvle365, you have rendered a superb depiction of a new puffle species! I mean, that’s a great drawing of a new puffle. Or is this a green puffle dressed up for the best holiday of the year?  The drawing is so convincing, I can’t tell. I would love to see another puffle that’s at home with Halloween. Then the ghost puffle will have some company for trick or treating!

Bots going bonkers! Rockhopper's Plants :)

Bots going bonkers!

Not quite a 3000 model yet... By Aunt Arctic — I'm getting tips from all over the island. The bots that Gary designed are giving penguins the creeps. Party-goers say the robots are messing up the recorded lines and saying eerie things. We're in the final week of the Anniversary Party, hopefully no one gets too spooked.

Gary is reviewing his designs and examining the robots, but he can't figure out why they would act this way. He said, "There is less than a 1% chance all of the robots would have this error at the same time." Something strange is certainly going on here. I've seen the Rookie bot, and the look in its eyes is quite unsettling. Stay alert as you explore the island, readers. I think there's more to this story...

Rockhopper's Plants :)

Not exactly a green thumb. By Captain Rockhopper — Do ye know the story of the 2009 Adventure Party? Why, it be a favorite tale of mine. It be a Tuesday, those many years ago, and I be arriving on Club Penguin with a hold full of marvelous plants. Well, I thought they be marvelous. They turned out to be a bit monstrous! They be growing all over me ship, and all over the island. It not be a bad party though. There even be a snowball-eating flower that grew big and then burped! Har har! I never thought I be having so much in common with a plant. Ye can go see it now in the Tree House, right by the Forest. Happy adventuring, me hearties!

Before Catchin' Waves, dedicated surf fans would compete to get the most coins or go the furthest. There are still lots of fans of the game, though. It's a great feeling to finally master the jumps and swings! Now is the perfect time to give it a try. Just be ready to hang on tight!

Dino Puffles Return! Time Tour :)

Dino Puffles Return!

A blast from the past! By PH — Crikey! It's been a long time since I've seen a dino puffle. They're here for the 10th Anniversary Party, all the way from prehistoric times. The pink stego and the black T-rex are in the Town if you want to see them. They're real beauts.

When the party construction crew needed help with the prehistoric Clothes Shop, Gary the Gadget Guy volunteered to go back in time with the Time Trekker 3000. He brought back all sorts of decorations for the store. But, it looks like he brought back a couple of puffles too! I can't say I blame the bloke. Who could resist these critters? Gary adopted Darwin, his blue stego puffle, from the Prehistoric Party of 2014, so he's got a soft spot for 'em. As pets they're totally ace. They really love a good run through the Puffle Park. It's a lot like the jungles from the prehistoric times. Members can adopt them until the end of the Anniversary Party.

Time Tour :)

Not our usual time travel. By Aunt Arctic — So far, the tenth anniversary has been just delightful. If you haven't already, I highly recommend walking from the oldest party to the newest one. We've time traveled before, but this is a little different.

How can I learn how to fly? – Eye Shadow
Hello Eye Shadow. Flying is one of the greatest dreams of penguinkind. That's why the jetpack is so great! It lets you fly all over the island, at least for a little while. I've attempted to solve the fuel shortage problems several times, but the answer has eluded me. You can try out flying by going to the top of the Lighthouse. You'll find the Jet Pack Adventure launch pad there.

I want to build some robots. How did you build yours? – Notta Bare
A fellow scientist? Greetings! Well, building the robots was an exciting scientific process. I started with some old robot models that had a few... bugs. Then, I drank several cups of coffee. After a night of frantic tinkering, I'd ironed out the most dangerous glitches. I programmed the robots to act like the original penguins. I've printed my schematics above in case you need any help with your own designs. Best of luck, fellow science adventurer!

Secrets Classified Garianna's Gold Puffle :)

By Gary the Gadget Guy - In 2013, we discovered a mysterious magic book. Turns out, it belonged to Garianna, an ancestor of mine who created potions of astounding potency! But, perhaps even more surprising, Garianna had discovered gold puffles long before us. It was a clue in her book that led us to find them in the Gold Mine. We don't know much about Garianna's gold puffle, not even a name. It must have gone along with her on her magical adventures, though. I hope to someday learn more about my ancestor and her pet!

The 10th Anniversary Party is here! Breakthrough in Penguin Robotics!

The 10th Anniversary Party is here!

Let the celebrations begin! By Aunt Arctic — I usually don't type in all-capitals, but I have to say: I AM SO EXCITED! I can't wait to literally walk through the history of Club Penguin. So many of my favorites are back, from the 2005 Christmas Party at the Rink to the Highway from the 2013 Summer Jam.

Nothing means more to me than the amazing times we've had together on the island. It's all thanks to the community that I've been able to make such lovely memories. If you're new to the island, this is going to be quite a sight! I recommend going to the Coffee Shop first. The yearbook is there, and you can browse through that to get a sense of all the excitement we've had over the years. And don't forget to pick up your exclusive 10th Anniversary Party Hat. It's delightfully extravagant! Now, once more, because I might not use my caps lock for another ten years: HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! 10 Years Anniversary Party CHEATS Club Penguin :)

Breakthrough in Penguin Robotics!

Domo arigato, Mr. Robot. By Gary — Astounding news, science fans! I have created several new robots to assist us with the Anniversary Party. They will provide historical facts on some of the anniversary rooms. There's nothing more fun than accurate facts! They're even programmed to have the same likes and dislikes as the originals, so you can discover Rockhopper's favorite party, or hear what Rookie loved about the Summer Jam. Can you invent a robot puffle? – Orecollecter
Interesting question, Orecollecter. Coincidentally, I've already analyzed the possibility of a robot puffle! After creating robot penguins, I didn't think puffles would be very difficult. Well, it turns out they are. You see, puffles have a spark of curiosity. They're really quite special. I've yet to determine how a robot could simulate such curiosity. But perhaps observing my puffle Darwin will yield a breakthrough. There's only a .01% chance that this would turn out like Night of the Living Sled.

Secrets Classified Pufflescape Tips :)

Did you know that Pufflescape started out as a beta-game called Rollerscape? It's true! It's a great game for exercising your puffles, and has lots of Stamps to earn. It takes fast thinking and good timing though, so here are a few tips:
• Look for things to click with your mouse. You'll need to search for objects that can help your puffle explore the caves.
• EVERY Puffle O is possible to get. If you can see it, you can reach it. Don't give up!
• If all else fails, try going as fast as you can! You never know when you'll hit a secret jump and go flying in the right direction!

Famous Penguins Incoming :) Villainy at the isle of the lost?

Famous Penguins Incoming :)

Club Penguin is the hot place to be. By Aunt Arctic — Penguins everywhere are prepping for the 10th Anniversary celebrations. Reports say that Rockhopper has set sail for home. Meanwhile, Cadence has wrapped up a studio session and is ready to party.

"i cant wait 2 be back with my party penguins!!" texted Cadence to the Club Penguin Times.  "i can hear them dancin already!" Many more penguins have confirmed they'll be a part of the festivities. Sensei declared: "There is a time to meditate and there is a time to party. Now is the time to party!" Rookie also announced that he'll be joining the celebrations. In fact, he's been announcing it every day for the last three years. Are you hoping to meet some famous penguins at the festivities? I'd love to see drawings of you meeting your favorite!

Villainy at the isle of the lost?

Mischief is afoot. By Aunt Arctic — Trouble is lurking at the Isle of the Lost, and I have to wonder–is it really a surprise? The town of villains has shown concerning behavior lately. Dangerous spells are recklessly being cast every which way. The pranks have even spilled over to Auradon Prep. When touring the halls yesterday, I saw sleep spells being cast at teachers. Some penguins have called for calm. "Just because they're villains doesn't mean they have to be bad," said a student at Auradon Prep. "We can help them be good!" Only time will tell whether good or evil wins. Make your way to the Isle of the Lost to help out.
