Frozen Fever! Rookie Interviews Himself :)

Frozen Fever!

Elsa and her friends are back! By Aunt Arctic — Frozen Fever has hit the island hard! Let’s give a warm welcome back to Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf! Well, maybe don’t give too warm of a welcome to Olaf. That adorable snowman might melt! I’ve got the scoop on why they’re visiting—Queen Elsa’s got a big plan!

Queen Elsa wants to show her love to Anna with a big birthday party! After throwing one in Arendelle, she and Anna are coming here too. They enjoyed the last Frozen party so much they wanted to do it all again. Collect magic snowflakes, freeze and thaw rooms, and show our visitors from Arendelle how much we love hosting them here on Club Penguin! Oh, and watch out for snowgies! Elsa’s still getting over her cold.

Rookie Interviews Himself :)

He’s a double agent. By Rookie — I’m the EPF Communications Lead, so Aunt Arctic says I need to get good at being interviewed. I put myself up against a really tough interviewer... me.
Rookie: You’ve said Rookie is your rank and your name, but what is your real name?
Rookie: It’s way too silly, haha. I’ll never say.
Rookie: Why don’t you tell us what the EPF is up to right now?
Rookie: Sure. We’re going after... HEY! You’re trying to trick me into giving up secrets.
Rookie: Ha. That’s right. I almost got you that time! What’s the toughest thing you’ve ever done for the EPF?
Rookie: OH! One time, Jet Pack Guy and I had to sneak through a forest filled with Herbert’s traps without talking. If we said even ONE word, we’d be captured! I couldn’t see any traps, but JPG told me they were totally there.
Rookie: Well, that’s all the time I have today. Thanks for the interview, Rookie!
Rookie: No worries. I’m sure I’ll see you around!

How do I get a skateboard? – Allie Oop
Heya! Members can pick up a skateboard at the Skate Park. Just head to the Mine Shack and go right. Click on the stand and pick out whatever sweet style you want. Though I don’t know WHO would pick the Herbert board!

How do I do tricks? – Allie Oop
Oh MAN! I usually end up doing a beak plant if I try tricks. But I talked to some skaters and they said you just click on the arrows in the Skate Park when you’re wearing your skateboard. The only gnarly fliptricks I’ll be doing are with pancakes and syrup! Actually, that’s not a bad idea...

Top Secret Fan Art :)

By julietta143. I absolutely love the atmosphere in this drawing. It appears these EPF agents are ready for a big operation. Even Agent Rookie looks like he’s taking things seriously! I’m guessing that the keen-looking agent at the bottom is julietta143 herself. I don’t know if that scarf is EPF regulation, but she certainly looks like one of the team. I wonder what caused the power to go out in this picture? Is it one of Ultimate Protobot 10K’s attacks? Or maybe one of Herbert’s diabolical devices? It would be delightful to know what story julietta143 was thinking of when she drew this piece of art.– Aunt Arctic

Mine Maze Open! Feeding Your Puffles :)

Mine Maze Open!

Another secret of the underground. By Rookie — Whoa! A mine maze totally opened up at the Docks! I heard the sasquatch was digging for treasures over there. Some puffle habits are hard to shake, I guess. But why is there a maze buried under the Docks? Who could have made it?

The sasquatch was joined by puffles that also sensed treasure in the area. Let's find out what they were digging for! There are hardhats at the entrance so you can jackhammer dance. And be safe. Maybe there's a prize at the end of the maze. Or a sandwich! Or a PRIZE SANDWICH!? If you find a way to the finish, pass on hints to new explorers. I know I would appreciate the help!

Feeding Your Puffles :)

A balanced breakfast for the active puffle. By PH — Are you stumped on how to feed yer new wild puffle creatures? You gotta find a feeding station! Any puffle can enjoy a snack on the go at the popular Pizza Parlor or the swanky Puffle Hotel. Just walk up to one of the stations and let your pet chomp away. If you don’t have time to take all your puffles out for food, no worries! You can always put them in the backyard. They’ll snack on o’berries back there, so they won’t get hungry if you’re away for a while.

Where do I find new furniture and igloos? – Con Trakter
Sounds like you’re looking to redecorate, Mr. Trakter. Well, your first stop should the Furniture & Igloo Catalog. You’ll need to go to your igloo and click the catalog icon in the bottom right. Then, you can flip through and pick out what you need. Got a crazy project in mind like a restaurant on the moon or an underground train? You should look at the locations and igloos to see if any work. If not, go with a basic igloo and check out all the furniture. Don’t forget you can rotate furniture and even change how it looks. With some clever combinations, you can make just about anything! If you see something you really need, don’t miss out. New items arrive every month, and that means old items are removed every month too!

A ship-shape pirate.

Who’s Rockhopper?–R.B. Acaptin
Rockhopper is a pirate captain, Club Penguin’s best-known adventurer, and a very good friend of mine. Together with his red puffle Yarr, he sails the high seas in his ship, the Migrator. Actually, he’s on to the third Migrator. You don’t go on that many daring adventures without losing a ship or two to the waves. From Lost Treasure Island to Rockhopper Island, his travels send him far and wide. When he returns, he brings back rare items and tall tales. Legend has it, he has battled a squid, played Mancala against the Merry Walrus (and lost), and fenced with a pirate turtle. He’s always up for a pirate parade, and enjoys a good pizza party—so if you happen to meet him, be sure to join in. And don’t mind the odor. It’s just the stinky cheese he keeps in his beard for later!

Secrets Classified Catchin’ Waves :)

• Red puffles are surf experts, so bring yours along to get an edge over the competition. They’ll help you earn points and coins.
• If you’re a member, look for the Silver Surfboard. It’s hidden in the Game Upgrade catalog at the Cove. It’ll help you go SUPER FAST

With these tips, you’ll be surf-a-nating the waves-ness in no time. Surfs down!

Aunt Arctic: Hello! Thank you for coming into the CP Times and speaking to me.

Aunt Arctic: Oh, that’s quite the mystery. Can I ask you about the Lodge? I understand you were so hungry you broke through the wall and ate the fish cake

The Wild Puffles of the Wild :)

New puffles available. By PH — G’day everyone! Thanks to all the Puffle Guides who helped with our expedition. We discovered a lot about wild puffle creatures. They don’t like pinecones, for one thing! Here’s some fun facts about our wild friends:
• The blue raccoons want to join the EPF as elite puffles. As soon as they heard of it, they knew it was for them.
• The unicorn puffles are always looking in the mirror and farting hearts. Rabbit puffles can’t stand it.
• The pink rabbit puffles are record-breaking high jumpers. There’s no obstacle course they can’t master.
• The black deer will always help you find your way.

You can find their home through the Puffle Lodge. Members can adopt them all.

How did you learn Crab? – Count R. Spy
Huh, that's a really good question. How DID I learn Crab? Well, it's super handy if you want a good deal on seaweed and shrimp wraps. The EPF has even called me in to decode Klutzy's messages to Herbert. Usually he's just talking about what movies they should watch, though. I just wish I was better at speaking it. Getting those little clicks right is hard with tap shoes. And if there are any crabs reading, here's a little message for you! Clickety-click. Click clickety-click. :)

Hard at work on attempt #2999.

What’s with Gary’s inventions? – Ian Ventor
Oh, his inventions are amazing! And sometimes scary. I help Gary at his lab a lot. He calls it “janitorial engineering”, which is like cleaning up, I guess? I get to see all of the work he puts into every gadget. There was some really weird stuff going on when he was working on the Time Trekker. There were like three Garys all telling me what to do at once! But even with all that craziness, I love having Gary’s inventions around. Can you even imagine a world without the Pizzatron 3000!?

Are the wild puffle creatures here to stay? – Guy D.
Oops! This isn’t a comic, but I reckon it’s important. Wild puffle creatures are here to stay! From raccoons, to rabbits, deer, and a unicorn, they’ll liven up igloos and backyards all over the island. Once we sort out the Puffle Lodge and get that hole fixed, everyone will be invited to join the Puffle Guides and enter the Wilds. Right outside of the Lodge, you’ll find the Wild Puffle Reserve. This is where wild puffle creatures will come to find new owners. Members can adopt them from there, even after the Puffle Party.

Making of a Comic :)

Secrets Classified Strange Items Found in the Wilds :)

By Aunt Arctic - New Puffle Guides are reporting in, and they’ve made some intriguing finds in the Wilds. In addition to the wild o’berries and other natural foods, they’ve found sandwiches, coffee, and barrels of cream soda. Is the Wilds becoming a popular picnic spot? Or are people using lunches to mark their path? I’m curious as to what would cause such a peculiar assortment of items to be there. I’ve had confirmation that the puffles aren’t interested in these. They don’t even recognize most of it as food. Is it possible someone or something else has been taking food from Club Penguin and snacking on it out there?

Puffle Guides Party Crashed! JPG’s Survival Guide :)

Puffle Guides Party Crashed!

That’s one BIG puffle. By Aunt Arctic — I’m sorry to say the Puffle Lodge launch party won’t be happening after all. A huge creature busted through the wall and ate all the fish cake! And how can there possibly be a party without cake?! PH is on the scene. To the Lodge!

PH says there are wild o’berries, and that points to wild puffle creatures. So we’re all off into the Wilds. Despite the setback, PH is still calling on anyone who wants to become a Puffle Guide. She’s ready to follow the clues into the Wilds, but she needs help. Head to the Lodge to collect the Puffle Guides Badge. From there, brave explorers will follow PH into the Wilds. Be prepared for anything out there. PH is an expert, but traveling with her can be exhausting. Make sure to bring bug spray! There’s nothing worse than mosquitoes buzzing around you while you follow a trail. And maybe some snacks as well. PH might be able to live off what she gathers from the Wilds, but I’d much prefer to have some scones with me. I look forward to hearing about what discoveries PH and the Puffle Guides are able to make. Puffle Party 2015 CHEATS :)

JPG’s Survival Guide :)

JPG once wrestled a sabre-toothed fluffy. By JPG — Heading to the Wilds? Then you better be ready. Here’s what you need to know:

• Respect nature. Don’t litter. I’ll know.
• You can make jetpack fuel from hot sauce and red o’berry juice.
• Don’t trust your eyes. The Wilds are tricky. Like the sabre-tooth fluffy.
• Go with a partner. Unless your partner is gonna wander off looking for his rubber ducky.

If you get in real trouble, make a fire or shoot up a flare. I’ll be doing recon from the air. But it better be an emergency.

What happened at the Puffle Lodge? – Badge Stitches
I’m still trying to find that out!I reckon it musta been a HUGE puffle that smashed up the wall and then ate the fish cake. At first I suspected ol’ Herbert, that awful bear. But I found wild o’berries in the Lodge, and that makes me suspect a wild puffle creature. Except, what kinda puffle could eat that much fish cake? I don’t know yet, but I’m raring to find out. Until we discover what puffle did this, we’re going to hold off on the launch party. Puffle Guides, to the Wilds!

Catchin’ Waves :)

Oh my! This is quite the funny drawing. I adore the expressions on both the surfer and the shark. This is a good reminder to everyone---be careful when playing Catchin’ Waves. Wiping out isn’t the only danger! I wonder if this shark could be related to the Megalodon sightings we’ve had near the Iceberg. I’d love to hear about your inspiration for this drawing, Tech70. Have you met a shark while surfing? I do hope he was friendly. Thank you very much for sending this in. It’s delightful to receive art from our readers. – Aunt Arctic

Puffle Tricks Explained! Puffle Guides!

Puffle Tricks Explained :)

It’s a whole new world for you and your puffle. By PH — G’day! Puffles are right clever when it comes to tricks. Ya just gotta make sure you’re in tune with ’em, and then you’ll have no problems. Tell you what, follow these tips and we’ll get ya doing tricks in no time.

I like to start with the “speak” command, but you can go with whatever one you like. Remember that you’re training yourself as much as your pet. Whenever your puffle does a trick, treat it with a puffle-O from one of the feeding stations. And hey, treat yourself too! Once you get the hang of it, your puffle will be jumping, rolling, and nuzzling like a champ. Oh, you gotta remember they can only dig every once in a while. That trick works like a beaut, but it can tucker the little guys out. Have fun learning tricks with your puffles. You might need them for new puffles soon! Puffle Snack Station ANIMATED :)

Puffle Guides :)

Proudly wear this pin! By PH — Allo! The new Lodge is just about done and the first Puffle Guides are signing up. Do you wanna join our troop? Then head to the Puffle Lodge in the Ski Village. You’ll find our badge up on the wall. Taking that badge is a sign that you believe in what the Puffle Guides stand for. Ya see, we’re all about venturing into the Wilds and keeping it safe. We don’t just discover new places, we guide others so they treat them well too. Ya know what? The EPF has a motto—Be resourceful. Be remarkable. Be ready. We could really use something snappy like that! That way, whether you’re lost in a jungle, or deep in the caves under Tallest Mountain, you’ll have a phrase to keep you on the right path. Write into the newspaper with your motto suggestions!

How can I help the environment? – Riri Sycle
Thank you for this wonderful question! These days, it’s important for everyone to do their part to protect the environment. I know sometimes it seems there’s very little we can do. But, as it turns out, ’little’ is exactly how we should be thinking. Because little things can add up to big differences! Start by turning off lights you aren’t using, and turning off the tap while you brush your teeth. You can also put on a sweater when it’s cold, rather than turning up the heat. The water and energy you save adds up. And finally, make sure to recycle as much as you can. Remember that some things recycle much easier than others, so don’t take that for granted. Learn as much as you can, and do your best.

Jet Pack Guy :)

By Dery Firefox - What a striking portrait of JPG, Dery Firefox. You’ve done an excellent job of getting his stern expression with one simple line. And you remembered the two most important items for JPG—the jetpack and the lucky tie! Did you know that he has modified his jet pack to fly farther than normal ones? His lucky tie has helped him save the island on many occasions. Unfortunately, the details of those missions are classified. Even though JPG would say that we shouldn’t publish pictures of EPF agents, I couldn’t resist with this one. Well done!– Aunt Arctic

Secrets Classified Puffle Launch Tips :)

By PHG’day mates! Want to blast your puffle into the skies and collect Puffle O’s? Ace! Head to the Pet Shop and keep in mind:

• Some obstacles can help ya out! If ya want the fastest time, aim for the nearest cactus, and see where it shoots ya!
• If you’re in a cannon that’s spinning around, shoot off in a random direction. Ya might wind up skipping some cannons!
• Don’t worry about your puffles getting splinters! Their helmets will keep ’em safe.

Keep practicing, and you’ll get the hang of it in no time. Just watch out for a certain nasty crab!

PI(E) Day on March 14! Meeting Wild Puffles!

PI(E) Day on March 14!

Holidays mean different things to different people. By Aunt Arctic — A very peculiar event is right around the corner. Pi Day is a celebration of the number 3.14, so it happens every year on March 14 (3/14). That might not sound exciting, but it’s all about pie as well! Who would have thought math and desserts go together?

Gary and Rookie are leading the island’s celebration of Pi Day. They’ll be visiting the School, the Cove, and the Shack. Gary will be discussing the science of both Pi and pie. I hear he has some experimental recipes he wants to try. Rookie won’t be discussing much, not with his mouth full of double-crust blueberry! But, he’s a master of pie-throwing gags. I’m sure he’ll be in fine form. So enjoy the holiday and learn a few facts.

Meeting Wild Puffles :)

Puffle creatures don’t love the crowds. Except maybe Glitterpants. By PH — Puffle creatures are dying to meet us penguins. Whenever I explore the Wilds, I find more puffles looking for owners. I’ve heard they’ve got myths about us that go way back. Just like our myths about puffles! But they’re really far out in the Wilds, and they can be a little nervous at first. They hide in the bushes. The best way to find a puffle creature is to use a wild o’berry. They’re mad for ’em. ’Course, those only grow in the Wilds. But once they smell one of those, they’ll come out to see what’s happening. Then, I reckon they’re ready to be adopted!

Upcoming Events :)

Ask Gary :)

What is Pi? – Sir Kell
Greetings! Pi is a very special number. Allow me to explain. If you think of a pie, it’s a circle, right? Well, the number Pi helps us measure all sorts of things about circles. Its width, how big around it is, and how much filling is in the pie. It also has an important second function—we get to eat pie on Pi Day! If you’d like to celebrate it with Rookie and I, please come out on 3/14 and we’ll discover some scrumptious scientific surprises.

What isn’t it like?

What’s the Box Dimension like? – Pore Tall
The Box Dimension is a curious place. One can reach it through a Box Portal, and it seems to connect to all sorts of other dimensions. However, I have never been able to map it out. Rookie is much better at finding his way through it. In fact, he’s been asking me to open up more Box Portals so he can explore further. I think he may just be looking for the Dessert Dimension again. Despite the 96.8% chance of danger, I must admit I’m intrigued. Who knows what discoveries could be made?

Talent Show Shows Off the Best!

The DJ K-Dance seal of approval. By DJ Cadence — The talent show is in full swing, and WOW, there are so many super-talented performers on the island. We’ve got rock, pop, dance, and dubstep stars. So what’s next for contestants who’ve nailed their auditions?

It’s been AMAZING helping future stars make it big. Especially when they finally figure out a song and go all out. SO EPIC! Now I can’t wait for SWEET new tracks from my favs. I’m keeping my ear on SoundStudio and the Dance Club. It won’t be long ’til some of them are topping the charts! If you’re still trying to pass that audition, don’t sweat it. You’ve got this!

DJ Cadence in 2015 :)

What’s next for DJ K-Dance? By Aunt Arctic — Last week, we looked at how DJ Cadence got her start. (You can find the newspaper archive in the Boiler Room under the Dance Club). Ever since she stepped into the spotlight, DJ Cadence has loved to share her fame. She collaborates as much as she can. She’s done numerous songs with the Penguin Band, and has made a close friend in Franky, the lead singer. In 2014, she organized the Music Cruise. That brought a literal boatload of music stars to the island to perform with her and the Penguin Band. Now, she’s collaborating again to judge the talent show. She’s searching for talented new voices with musical puffles Dubstep and Glitterpants.

My band argues a lot! Do you guys ever argue? – Harm O. Nee
You know, every band or group of friends can disagree, but we try to keep our cool. We don’t really argue much, except about pizza toppings. Petey K insists on having squid every time. Stompin’ Bob and I can get really intense about how to play a song. Luckily, we’ve got G Billy to calm us down. My advice is to remember that you all want the best for the band. Then, it’s about figuring out how to be awesome instead of who is right.

PB in 2015.

What’s next for the Penguin Band? – Rock N. Roll
Oh man. I’m stoked for this year. We’re working on new songs of our own. Plus, DJ Cadence is bringing us in on her tracks. And I’m really hoping to make some more samples for SoundStudio. I love working on those. Aside from that, we’ve got some kinda crazy ideas. Petey K wants to go on a time tour. You know, like from prehistoric to the year 4014. I don’t know if Gary would let us turn the Time Trekker 3000 into a tour bus, but you never know!

Secrets Classified Secrets of the Cove :)

By Aunt Arctic - Today, the Cove is a great place to tell campfire stories, go for a swim, or meet a friend. But do you know its secret history? It was once a remote beach, isolated from the rest of Club Penguin. You may have heard that a jet pack pilot accidentally landed there and then made a map for everyone. But there’s more to the story! When the pilot landed, there were mermaids in the Cove. He found out about their underwater city. He said they even took him there! But then, he had to swim up to the surface, and he lost his way. It took him a long time to find his way back to the Cove. When he returned, the mermaids were gone! No one believed him at the time, but I think he might have been telling the truth!

DJ Cadence’s Early Career :)

Everyone starts somewhere. By Aunt Arctic — With DJ Cadence’s talent show on, I’ve had many questions about DJ Cadence and how she got her start. DJ Cadence was always passionate about dancing and music, but she struggled to stand out. Her big break was the Dance-a-thon in 2009. She really made an impression with her quirky catch phrases and awesome dance moves. Then, in 2011, she teamed up with her purple puffle, Lolz, and started gaining momentum. I’ve heard it was Lolz that inspired DJ Cadence to go beyond dancing and start singing too. In 2012, she released her first album. Her big single, “The Party Starts Now”, launched her into a new level of stardom. Check the paper next week to hear more of her story.

Island Rumors :)

SASQUATCH SIGHTINGS
By Rumor Reporter – Some say it’s just a legend, but there are more and more reports of the mysterious wanderer around the island. Myth hunters call him Sasquatch, but he hasn’t told anyone his name. He’s been spotted all over, but we don’t know why. Is he looking for something? Or someone?

What inspired “You’ve Got This”? – Dee J.
I’ve been so lucky. I have the BEST fans. Because of them, I’ve been able to live my dream on Club Penguin! That’s what inspired me—the awesomeness of everyone on the island. And these are the same fans who’ll support UR rock star dreams. If u put yourself out there, you’ll meet the peeps that dig ur style. Then, it’s all about practice and finding ur voice.

Staying cool in the cold.

What do you do to relax? – Leigh Back
Maybe this isn’t a big surprise, but... dancing! That’s what I LUV, so that’s what keeps me charged up. Sometimes I need to chill out to write songs though. It’s hard to use a laptop and bust moves! That’s when I invite my best friend over and we talk about stuff. The shows we watch, new bands, whatever. It kicks my creativity into gear. Plus, he can strum chords while I try to come up with lyrics. We make a wicked team!

Secrets Classified Tales from Captain Rockhopper :)

(From a message in a bottle – Aunt Arctic)
By Captain Rockhopper
Avast! How be it goin’ on Club Penguin? I be ship-shape here on the open seas. Me new Migrator be the fastest one yet–even if it be taking a long time to get back from Merry Walrus Island! Why, it be a Tuesday not long ago when I be seeing how fast she can really go. Yarr and I be sailin’ along, when, beside me ship, I be seeing a mermaid! She hollered out to me, “How about a race to Lost Treasure Island?” Yarr and I don’t back down from a race! We hoisted our sails and were off. That mermaid be a fast swimmer, she be keeping up all the way to Lost Treasure Island. But not fast enough, har har! Yarr and I be winning! But, that’s when I be seeing she wasn’t upset. She was laughin’ and splashin’ around. She’d only wanted to know where me Lost Treasure Island was! Never be trusting a mermaid, me hearties. Even a fast ship won’t save ye from their tricks!
