Festival of Snow! Rookie’s New Workout :)

Festival of Snow!

Not your average snowmen. By Aunt Arctic — Welcome to the Festival of Snow, everyone. It’s sunny this week (as usual), and the snow is just right for making marvelous sculptures. See the sculptures and the art that inspired them at the Plaza, Town, and Snow Forts.

Leading up to this event, snow ninja sculptors took submissions from many artists. They chose pieces that inspired them to create. Grab a cup of hot tea (or hot chocolate, if you prefer) and stroll across the island. You’ll see some very creative pieces. There are even a couple I’d love to have in my igloo! If you click on the sculptures, you’ll see the art and the artists that inspired the work. I think the sculptors did a wonderful job of recreating the drawings. If you see one of the artists, make sure to give them a big congratulations on having a sculpture made of their work .One final note—fire ninjas are asked not to practice near the scultpures (text BUG! It should be sculptures). We want them to make it to the end of the festival on July 8!

Rookie’s New Workout :)

It’s time to get fit! By Rookie — I’ve got EPF tests coming up, and I want to do my best. (Editor’s Note: EPF = Everyday Phoning Facility, where Rookie is training to answer calls) Here’s my new routine:
• Start with 20 seconds of dancing at the Dance Club. All that spinning will get your blood pumping.
• Wait until you stop feeling dizzy.
• Play some hockey at the Stadium. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know the rules, just skate around!
• Try to remember where you left your pet rock. By the time you find it, you’ll have walked for a long time!
That’s it. Wish me luck on my training!

Is the ghost puffle in the Pet Shop? – Lloyd863
Hello Lloyd863. I’m afraid (no pun intended!) the ghost puffle is not available in the Pet Shop. We last saw the ghost puffle during the Halloween party of 2014. If ghost puffles ever visit the island again, I’ll be sure to report on it so everyone can find them!
How do I learn to fly a jetpack? – Puffy1654
There is no better way to learn than Jet Pack Adventure. Climb to the top of the Lighthouse and launch into the game. Watch out for those floating anvils!

Underground Mysteries :) The Wheel of Potent Cheese :)

Underground Mysteries :)

Secrets of the deep. By Aunt Arctic — There are a great many mysteries on the island. Sometimes, the biggest are the ones right under our feet. I'm speaking about the Underground,  of course. There is so much we don't understand about this area. Are you willing to dig deep and explore its secrets?

We'll start with the Boiler Room. At first glance, it's just a place to catch up on old editions of the paper. But why is there even a secret entrance from the Dance Club? And why is the green puffle known as The Keeper guarding it? On the other side of the island, deep under the Shack, there is a Gold Mine. Puffle fans know this is the place where Gold Puffles come to be adopted. But is there some connection between this Gold Mine and the treasure that puffles are able to dig up? And what about the rather large machine under the sheet? I can't guess at its purpose, but I've learned from Gary's inventions that bigger means more trouble. If you have any theories, please tell me right away!

The Wheel of Potent Cheese :)

This be the thrilling conclusion to me adventure, mateys! I’d climbed the Blasted Big Mountain, and I be finding me Wheel of Potent Cheese in a buried treasure chest! I be so hungry for some stinky cheese, I be eatin’ the whole thing at once! It be the most deliciously fragrant cheese that I ever be tasting. It almost be worth climbing so high to get it. And to think me treasure maps said it be cursed! Bah! That be nothin’ but a tall tale to scare away pirates. And mice. Now that I be back on the Migrator, I do be feeling a bit odd... It probably just be the climb up the mountain. It not be good to be away from the sea air for so long. Time to be sailing set! Err... I mean... I be buckling swash... Avast?

Other penguins are making funny faces. How do they do that? – Cin343
Thanks for writing in, Cin343. Sounds like they’re using emotes. You can click on the yellow face icon to see all the regular ones. There are a bunch of hidden emotes too! To use them, first make sure your cursor is not in the chat bar. Press the letter E, then P—a puffle will appear in your speech bubble! You can try this trick with other letters and numbers too. Try E + M to put a coin in your speech bubble, or E + T to TOOT! Try a few different combinations (they all start with E) and see what you find!

Operation: Hot Sause :)

An unsolved case! By Aunt Arctic – This info is from the last file I was given by the EPF. In April 2013, Herbert stole a giant hot sauce bottle from the Pizza Parlor. With no hot sauce for pizza, the Pizza Party that Rookie had planned was going nowhere. It was up to clever agents to figure out where the villainous bear went. They were able to gather clues and follow him to a secret lair, but it wasn’t easy to get in. Fortunately, Herbert had installed a switch that would flood the whole base if it was pressed. With quick thinking and a classic EPF pizza-throwing technique, the agents tricked Klutzy into hitting the button! Herbert was foiled again! His plans for the hot sauce bottle remain a mystery. But, stopping a Pizza Party was crime enough to put him back on top of the EPF’s most wanted list.

Captain Rockhopper’s Message!

Captain Rockhopper’s Message!

ARR! I be writing back to ye with terrible news, me hearties. I’ve faced many storms in me life at sea. But this one be me most vile, bilge-ridden time on the ocean. Flip over!

I be out o’ stinky cheese! By me beard, it be a terrible fate! This voyage be longer than I be thinking, and now all I have left are puffle-Os Yarr made me bring. Bah! What kinda pirate be eating puffle-Os! But, there be hope yet. Me treasure map points to an island nearby that holds ancient treasures. One o’ them be the fabled Wheel of Potent Cheese. I know I be close to the island now. Even Yarr agrees with me navigatin’, so it must be on track! Har har, it be time for a treasure hunt, mateys!

Operation: Hibernation Uncovered!

Newly declassified secrets. By Aunt Arctic — Today, and for the rest of the month, I’ll be bringing you the stories of the Elite Penguin Force. These are the brave agents who work in the shadows. They protect our island from villainous forces such as Hebert P. Bear. Recently, the EPF released some top secret files to me. One is the story of the 2012 Operation: Hibernation. This was the ingenious plan to lure Herbert into hibernation by making it unbearably cold. Despite the fact that polar bears don’t normally sleep through winter, this actually worked! A daring agent had to break through Herbert’s defenses to set up the AC 3000 device. However, the victory was short-lived, and his next attack on the island was an attempt at an icy revenge.

How do you find the secrets? – Girl577
You must be talking about the secrets in the Penguin Style catalog in the Clothes Shop. I don’t imagine you’re asking about a secret agency at all. I couldn’t possibly know about that. But, the secrets in the catalog are a great way to find rare items. Inspect each picture carefully, and you’ll find some hidden treasures. They’re just a click away.

Sled Racer by Juanda26

By Aunt Arctic — This is quite an exciting picture, Juanda26. It looks like you’re really enjoying your race down the hill. Just looking at this picture reminds me of the rush of air as you start a run. And the tight grip on the tube as you whip past an obstacle–or a friend’s high score. Best of luck on your upcoming races. I’ll be looking for you on the leaderboards!

Secrets Classified Card-Jitsu Fire :)

By Sensei
Grasshopper, mastering Card-Jistu Fire takes patience, practice, and a few tips.
• When you don’t have a card of the right element, play your weakest card.
• If you have a Power Card ready, and get the chance; challenge an opponent to a Card-Jitsu battle. If you win, you’ll gain energy.
• Never give up. You gain progress even if you lose. But if you quit, you will gain nothing.

The Mall is open! Campfire stories :)

The Mall is open!

It even allows skateboards! By Rookie — The Puffle Berry Mall is here! Wheeee escalators! Remember the School and Skate Party? It's just like that, except now there's even a costume shop! Head to the Plaza to see it. There's a TON of stuff to do in there.

First off, you gotta ride the escalator. Probably both ways a couple of times. Then, stop by Anvils + More. They have all sorts of things I love to order. Like anvils! And more! I've never been into Fragile Things. They always ask me to leave. And what would a trip to the Mall be without a new outfit? Pick up any stage play costume and then strut your stuff. After all that strutting, you're probably gonna be hungry. I recommend the fish and fish chips from the food court!

Campfire stories :)

Don't forget the marshmallows! By Aunt Arctic — Ever since the campfire at the Cove started, it's been a tradition to tell stories around it. One day, as the sun was setting, I heard a very chilling tale. "Once upon a time, there was a funny penguin known for his loud shirt and multi-colored hat. He loved to try new things—new parties, new adventures. And especially new candies! One Halloween, he discovered Fullmoon Fireballs. These were the best candies he'd ever tasted! But they came with a terrible price! Well, only if you consider becoming a werewolf a bad thing. Honestly, he seems to quite enjoy it. But who knows how many other penguins are moonlighting as monsters!"

Puffle Berry Mall opening soon!
Now with a costume shop! By Aunt Arctic — Big news! I'm delighted to announce the Plaza is getting an update. The Puffle Berry Mall will be opening next week. Check out what's inside!

City planners heard how much everyone enjoyed hanging out and shopping at the mall. So they decided to make it a permanent room. You can meet your friends in the food court and enjoy a Fluffy Fish Burger, or head up to the shops on the second floor. For all those aspiring actors out there, don't worry. Now the costumes for all the Stage plays will be available in the new catalog. And a new Stage igloo will be available in the Furniture and Igloo Catalog for members to purchase.

What is the red glowing light you can see from the Lighthouse? – Squeaker0902
Thanks for writing in Squeaker0902! That red glowing light is a beacon. A few years back Captain Rockhopper led an expedition to Shipwreck Island. It's a very dangerous place and many ships have crashed on its rocks. With the help of some brave sailors, Captain Rockhopper built a red beacon there. Now he can sail around the island without crashing the Migrator. At least on that island...

Amazement Park Opens! 500th issue :)

Amazement Park Opens!

You’ll laugh, you’ll scream, you’ll eat a whole fish burger! By Rookie — THE AMAZEMENT PARK IS BACK!! And it’s better than ever! New rides, more prizes, and did someone say dragons? This is almost better than the time Jet Pack Guy high-fived me!

All my favorite places are back—Pirate Park, Tumbleweed Town, and Galaxy Park! And there’s the new (old?) Ye Olde Castle! I bet Shadow Guy and Gamma Gal would love the Galaxy Park! They’d totally own Super Hero Bounce. I think they’d get the Super Hero Hoodie on their first try. Ye Olde Castle is like a mini Medieval party! I can’t wait to try out the new Medieval Monsters game and save the princess. And you can’t forget about the prizes! It was tough earning enough Fair Tickets last time, but this year all the prizes are WAY easier to get. That Jelly Donut Plush is mine! Ready to get your Fair on? Head to the Docks, and be AMAZED!

500th issue :)

By Aunt Arctic — 500 issues! As Club Penguin heads into its 10th year, we should celebrate the big milestones. And this is an enormous one. When I started at the Club Penguin Times, I couldn’t have imagined the 500th issue. Thanks to all of you for making this possible .I love covering the breaking stories on Club Penguin. I can’t imagine a more intriguing place to report on. From the secrets of the golden puffle to mystery of the sasquatch, this paper has quite the record for getting scoops. But what I’m most proud of are the jokes, riddles, art, and questions that our readers send in. There’s nothing better than hearing from the community about what they think is funny or clever or special. Let’s celebrate in the Coffee Shop. We can chat about what the big stories will be this year and share our favorites from the past! What an incredible journey!

Island Rumors!

GARIANNA’S MYSTERIES - By Rumor Reporter – The magical ancestor of our very own Gary the Gadget Guy is always at the center of rumors and mystery. Her spellbook contained recipes for transformation potions, and even the method of finding the gold puffle. But no one has ever met her. What happened to her? If you can’t choose one to adopt, red and blue are the most popular pets on the island, and for good reason! Red puffles are known for their adventurous spirit and love of surfing. And blue puffles are loyal to their core. There are other puffles to discover. Ask a puffle owner if you want to know more and they’ll be more than happy to talk about their pets!

Shadow Guy and Gamma Gal Return! History of the Fair :)

Shadow Guy and Gamma Gal Return!

The daring duo! By Rookie — Shadow Guy and Gamma Gal are my FAVORITE superheroes! She’s all like SHLABOOM! and he’s all WHOOSH! They’ve defeated Melmonst, and Squidzoid, and they’re JUST. THE. COOLEST. I’m even part of their fan club! Super Fan!

No one knows how the duo really got their powers. Some fans say Gamma Gal was named Amy. But I know an Amy and she doesn’t have ANY super powers. However they became heroes, they are awesome at it. Gamma Gal can shoot Gamma Glow Waves, she can fly, and she can’t be hurt by energy beams. Shadow Guy can become a shadow and move through anything except for bright light! They are such a good team. No one has ever beaten them! I just wish they didn’t have secret identities. I want to put them on my Friends List! Then I could ask them for help the next time the island’s in trouble. Or if I lose rubber ducky again. I can’t wait until we get a new comic about them. [Editor’s Note: Shadow Guy and Gamma Gal are fictional superheroes. Unless Rookie knows something we don’t.]

History of the Fair :)

Way back in 2014. By Aunt Arctic — The Fair is one of the longest running parties on Club Penguin. We’ve been winning tickets and prizes at its games since 2007!It started humbly, with Rockhopper bringing a few prizes and games from far away. Fair goers immediately loved the challenge of earning tickets and the fun atmosphere. It grew and grew every year. In 2012, Rockhopper was out at sea when the Fair was scheduled to arrive. Rookie volunteered to take over, and before anyone could voice a concern, he was running the Fair! He’s actually done a very good job. The Fair turned into a theme park called The Amazement Park with exciting rides and different lands to explore. I hear Rookie has another surprise to add to this year’s Fair. I’m worried it has something to do with all the transformation candies he ordered from Spectral Sweets. Those transformations are quite dramatic.

What do you think about the Megalodon? – 863penguin
There is a lot of speculation about the Megalodon. It was first seen at a Prehistoric Party, trapped in the Iceberg. But when we revisited the past in 2014, a volcano was warming up the Iceberg, and the giant shark escaped! There are no records of it after that. But it is possible it survives to this day. There have been sightings of a suspicious fin near our Iceberg, for instance. If that is the Megalodon, I hope it’s friendlier than it looked!

Ghost Puffle by Coloriage - What mischief is this guy up to?

By Aunt Arctic — You’ve done a wonderful job on this ghost puffle drawing. Those spooky eyes are spot on. It looks like the puffle is out for an evening stroll—or would that be an evening float? I’d love to hear what your puffle gets up to. I know my puffles can be quite a handful sometimes, and ghost puffles can be even more mischievous. PH told me they love to surprise their owners by popping through walls unexpectedly! I hope yours is well-behaved. It’s certainly well-drawn!

Secrets Classified The Feed-a-Puffle Fair Game :)

Feel like you’ve got good aim? Try a round of Feed-A-Puffle during the Fair. You can find it in Galaxy Park. Simply shoot O’berries into the puffles’ mouths when they pop out of the holes. Pizza orders on the rise! Best wishes to Anna :)

Pizza orders on the rise!

They're coming in hot! By Aunt Arctic — The Pizza Parlor is looking to hire new chefs. It's not just increasing demand—my sources inform me that several premier pizza makers have disappeared. Will this mean a pizza shortage? And what's causing the chefs to vanish without a trace?

Club-Penguin- 2015-05-0213 - Copy

Being a pizza chef is a serious calling. Many of the top chefs have practiced for years on the Pizzatron 3000.They can whip up 40 pizzas and not even miss a single ingredient. So why would they step away from their job? No one knows for sure! My source on the inside tells me chefs can be very competitive. Some might be heading to the Tallest Mountain to prove themselves in Sled Racer. There were several heated discussions about the best pizza-cooking temperature. Perhaps some couldn't handle the heat? But one thing is certain, the island needs pizzas! Interested chefs can apply to the Pizza Parlor by going inside and saying, "is pizza chef."

Best wishes to Anna :)

We loved having them here to share in Elsa's magic. We hope Anna has a wonderful year, and that Elsa gets over her cold quickly. With the Frozen Fever Party over, I can't wait for the next one. One of my favorite things about Club Penguin is how it's always changing. We're never far from a new party or a new challenge. There are already plans to bring the Fair here this month. What does the red machine in the Arcade do? – Realtor1000
This mysterious machine is one of Gary the Gadget Guy's unfinished projects. In true Gary fashion, he put it together using spare parts from the other arcade machines. It never quite worked properly and Gary unplugged it in case it went haywire. Then, during the Fair, Rookie plugged it in anyway. It didn't explode or even spark. Instead, it became a game that you could go inside. This wasn't at all what Gary had intended. But, in his words, it was a "serendipitous random occurrence". That means it was a lucky break. The game will only be plugged in during the Fair, so if you'd like to explore the charming pixel world, look for it there!

Snow Shoveler :)

Looks like a hard working penguin! By Aunt Arctic — Isn't this a charming piece of art? I think the use of pencil shading is quite lovely. I instantly get the impression of a helpful neighbor who is willing to shovel out the doorway of your igloo as well as his own. He's just the friend you'd want after a big snowfall. Unfortunately, the artist didn't let us know their name! But, I didn't want to miss the chance to show this piece. This is a reminder that if you submit art, you should make sure to include your name. I always want to give credit to the amazing artists we have on the island.

Secrets Classified Herbert P. Bear’s Quirks :)

By Aunt Arctic - Herbert is a curious creature. I'm not an expert, but I'm quite sure that polar bears are good swimmers and eat meat and fish. The bear that washed up on our island is both vegetarian and terrified of water. I often wonder if it was one of these things that caused him to leave the other polar bears in the Arctic. Maybe there was no good vegetarian cuisine for him there? Or maybe there wasn't much to do if you weren't a swimmer? I suspect his departure has more to do with his quick temper and tendency towards villainy. Despite how many times we've run into Herbert and his schemes, I think he's still a mystery.

The Art of Disguise :)

By Dot the Disguise Gal — Club Penguin is a fantastic place to practice your disguise skills. Even if you’re not an EPF stealth agent, you should keep your skills sharp. You never know when you’ll need to hide from a rogue robot.
• Hide behind objects—and make them talk! This can serve as a simple distraction to keep the villains guessing where you really are. You can try it out on the snowman in the Snow Forts or the stone puffles outside of the Dojo.
• Wear a costume and blend in. No one will look twice at a tree in the Forest. Except maybe the monkeys that keep showing up there.
• Create an igloo with lots of hiding places. You can practice your stealth skills with your friends. Take turns hiding as stealth agents and seeking as the big bad bear, Herbert!

How do I get all the Frozen items? – Sue Perfan
I’m glad to hear you’re so keen on them, Sue! You can collect free items by finding magic snowflakes around the island. But I imagine a dedicated fan such as you has already collected most of the snowflakes. If that’s the case, make sure to look at Oaken’s Cloakens in the Dock. The friendly trader Oaken will have the latest Arendelle fashions for sale to members. And for once, they’re appropriate to the weather outside! Frozen Fever Party 2015 CHEATS Club Penguin :)

By DJ Cadence — WHOA! This drawing is SICK! It’s like you took all the awesome of a Dance Club party and put it on the page. I LUV how the glow of the turntables shines on the two DJs. And they’re both rocking some sweet styles. Why not bring your jetpacks to the party, right? Then you’re totes gonna make a big exit. Thanks so much for sending this in, Penny2415. It makes me want to mix a new track on SoundStudio right now!
