Herbert’s Recipe for Disaster
Equipment:
CARAMEL POPCORN
1 tbsp butter
2 tbsp brown sugar
1/4 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
POPCORN SNOWBALLS
2 cups mini-marshmallows
1 tbsp butter
1/2 cup halved pecans
1/2 cup cranberries/currants
* Work with a parent or guardian.
Pop a bag of plain popcorn, then transform it into an explosion of flavor.
CARAMEL POPCORN
Difficulty level: 
Your Orders:
- Empty popcorn into a large bowl and remove any un-popped kernels.
- Mix everything else together in a microwave-safe bowl.
- microwave for 10 seconds at a time until melted, stirring in between.
- Pout the mixture over the popcorn, then stir until all kernels are coated.
POPCORN SNOWBALLS
Difficulty level: 
Your Orders:
- Empty popcorn into a large bowl and remove any un-popped kernels.
- Add butter to the marshmallows in a microwave-safe bowl.
- Microwave for 10 seconds at a time until melted, stirring in between.
- Stir marshmallow mixture into the popcorn until all kernels are coated. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir.
- Once the popcorn is cool enough to touch, shape it into snowballs.
- Place the popcorn snowballs onto a sheet of wax paper until fully cooled.
To defuse these dangerously delicious popcorn devices, eat immediately. And now, a message from Herbert: “What can I say, revenge is sweet!”

Your Orders:
* Work with a parent or guardian.
- Put a sheet of white paper on the top of a sheet of wax paper/
- Use the pen to write a top secret message to another EPF-agent. The message must show up on the wax paper, so press the pen hard.
- Use the EPF Secret Code. This information is CLASSIFIED.
- Take the wax paper sheet to your fellow agent. You may need to go in disguise.
- To reveal the message, your fellow agent must color the wax paper sheet with a crayon. When the secret message appears, he must decode it.
- These instructions will self destruct in 5… 4… 3… 2…
Outdoor Activities :)
FIELD-OPS
Requirements:
4 or more friends
Paper and a pen to make your plans
Resourcefulness
Note: if possible, use flashlights, stopwatches or other spy gear.
* Work with a parent or guardian.
Your Orders:
- Create a list of secret agent Field-Ops (see examples below).
- Split your agents into teams and give each team the list of tasks.
- Set a time limit.
- move out!
- The team that completes all Field-Ops first is victorious.
Examples:
Operation Seek & Recover:
You need a small plastic bag.
Objective:
Bring back a total of 4 objects from the field – 1 x circle, 1 x square, 1 x triangle, 1 x rectangle.
Operation Intel:
You need a paper and a pen.
Objective:
Bring back a list of 15 things in the field that start with the letter “s”.
There are no limitations to devising your own Field-Ops. Get a parent to verify your orders before your teams head out.
