Casa Fiesta Feast!
You Will Need
* Make sure your parent or guardian helps you with these!
Celebrate music and food Casa Fiesta style! Make some rockin’ party food to share with your buddies. Here’s how:

Invite your buddies over for musical food festival. You’re going to create your own fun food table, like the one inside the Casa Fiesta.

Put lots of chips into three different bowls. You could try using different colored tortilla chips!
-
With the help of your buddies, make these three fast, fun dips to feast upon.
- Rock-a-mole (guacamole) Dip
- Musical Fruit (bean) Dip
- Salsa Dance (tomato) Dip

Put the dips into bowls and serve to your Casa Fiesta guests.

Remember to play some tunes for your guests as they enjoy your tasty treats!
Salsa Dance Dip
Ingredients
-
1/2 an onion
-
1/4 cup cilantro
-
1 garlic clove
-
4 small tomatoes
-
1 tbsp. lime juice
-
1/4 tsp. salt
Directions
-
Take the onion, tomato, cilantro, and garlic and chop it up into small pieces.
-
Add the rest, then mix it all together until it rocks like Franky!
Musical Fruit Dip
Ingredients
-
1 (15-ounce) can of white kidney beans, drained and rinsed
-
1/4 cup lemon juice
-
1 heaping tablespoon chopped sage (about 7 to 9 leaves)
-
1 garlic clove
-
1 1/2 tbsp. olive oil
-
1/4 tsp. pepper
-
1/4 tsp. salt
Directions
Mix everything together in a food processor until it’s as smooth as a cool tune!
Rock-A-Mole Dip
Ingredients
-
2 ripe avocados
-
1/2 a small onion
-
1 garlic clove
-
1 small tomato
-
1 1/2 tbsp. lime juice
-
salt and pepper to taste
Directions
-
Chop the onion, garlic, and tomato into small pieces.

Peel and pit the avocados.
-
Mash the avocados in a bowl, then mix in everything else.

Push in 3 toothpicks 1/3 of the way up from the large end of the avocado pit.
-
Suspend the pit over a full glass of water so that the pit is resting on the water.
-
Keep it topped up with water so the glass is always full.

Watch and see it grow!
Arts and Crafts :)
Paper-Maché! Extreme Music Jammers
You Will Need
-
2 balloons
-
Dry pebbles, rice, beans, corn or other seeds
-
Cardboard tubes
-
Duct or masking tape
-
Glue
-
Scissors
-
Paint or felt-tipped pens to decorate
For the paper-maché mix:

* Make sure your parent or guardian helps you with these!

Blow up the balloons to the size you want your maracas to be.
-
Tape the cardboard tubes to the base of the balloons.
-
Tear the old newspapers into strips of about 2 cm wide.
-
To make the paper-maché, mix the flour and the cold water in a pot.
-
Dip the newspaper strips in the paste and use your fingers to slide off the excess.
-
Place the strips around the balloons and tube, leaving one tiny opening. You’ll need to build up several layers.

Leave the paper-maché to dry overnight.
-
When completely dry, pop the balloon and add beans/pebbles/rice through the opening.
-
Use the duct or masking tape to seal it off.
-
Use your imagination and decorate it with paints or pens.
-
Get your friends together and make some noise.
Outdoor Activities :)
Lyric DJ
You Will Need
-
3 or more friends (if you have more, you can do “teams”)
-
Music you can all hear (radio/CD player/MP3 player)
-
Pencils and printable sheet (see next page)
-
Timer
How to play:
-
Pick a friend to be the judge.
-
The judge turns on the music, and everybody writes the first sentence from the song that is playing.
-
The judge plays the next song, and again everybody writes down the first phrase they hear.
-
When the judge changes the song six times, and everybody has six sentences, turn on the times.
-
Set the timer for five minutes. Using the words and lines you have, mix them to create a new song!
Tip: You can add words but you can’t take any away.
-
Everyone performs their song to the judge. Use your imagination and your talent to rock the stage!
Tip: Be as silly or as serious as you want!
-
The judge picks the winner and the winner gets to be the judge for the next round.
