The mansion of Gariwald VIII appeared in the Forest unexpectedly this week.
By Gary — The island is shrouded in darkness. Monsters wander the streets. Ghosts haunt every shadow. It’s 99.999% confirmed—Halloween is here! Now I need YOUR help. My great uncle Gariwald’s mansion is the epicenter of paranormal activity. Do you dare enter?
Gariwald VIII was a brilliant inventor who experimented with ectoplasmic phenomena—the science of ghosts. Many years ago, on Halloween, he vanished... This week his mansion appeared out of thin air. This may be our only chance to solve this mystery! We must search every room for clues, but be warned: the mansion is assuredly haunted. And even if you don’t believe in ghosts... they still believe in you. Do you dare to enter the mansion, face your fears, and unravel this mystery? Then go to the Forest. Good luck.

Dear Gary,In theory, how would you build a high frequency infrared reversion laser?–Hubert P. Enguin
Greetings Hubert P. Enguin, Thank you for your question! I’m always pleased to hear from young penguins interested in science. Actually, a reversion laser would be an exciting challenge. As you can imagine, blocking out the sun would take an enormous amount of power. Or at least a really really tall tree. The most difficult part would be creating the photon wavelength-inverter—a device that creates anti-light. Luckily I already built one by accident, when I was designing a new toaster. Such a device would take approximately 93 newspapers to explain however. So I hope that answers your question. Remember, safety first!

Greetings Skare D Kat, I am by no means a ghost expert. But luckily, I recently found my great uncle Gariwald’s lab notes, which contained many fascinating facts. Let me first explain what ghosts cannot do. They cannot steal your pizza, or wilt your plants. They cannot blow up your igloo. And they certainly cannot pinch your elbow. But though they are not dangerous, they are incredibly scary. They can pop out of nowhere, and generate loud BOOS up to 120 decibels. That’s as a loud as a crash of thunder! So even though a ghost cannot hurt me, I cannot help but experience trepidation in their presence. In other words—they scientifically scare me. Watch your back, and exercise extreme caution while trick-or-treating.

There are many different kinds of scavenger hunts in Club Penguin. Sometimes you’re looking for candy. Other times you’re searching for an ancient artifact to save the world. No matter what you’re looking for, here are a few quick tips that can help on any scavenger hunt: Always read each clue carefully. Only one object is hidden per room. Don’t search the same room twice! Organize search parties—the more eyes searching the better.
