What should I wear to the awards show? –Faye Shione
Choosing the right outfit for the red carpet can be quite the challenge. I myself like to go with classic black-rimmed glasses and a notepad. But to get you a few other fashion tips, I talked with the island’s trendsetter— Cadence. “Check it! Planning ur outfit is all about making a statement. If u wanna rock the red carpet, u gotta stand out and show ’em who you are!” “If a fancy dress or suit and tie ain’t ur thing, don’t sweat it. U can dress anything up with a few bling accessories, like gold bangles, or the Twilight Sky wig!” “Fashion is all about attitude. If u look confident, you’ll def get noticed!” To check out the latest fashions, head to the Clothes Shop. Or, when in doubt, you can never go wrong with a pink beanie!

A well prepared speech is essential

Can you give me tips on writing my acceptance speech? –Sue Peach
Giving an acceptance speech can be very nerve-wracking. And getting it right can certainly be tricky. If you write your speech well in advance, you’ll have plenty of time to make it perfect. Here are a few things I recommend when preparing your speech. Write down all the people you want to thank. Once you’re up on stage it can be hard to remember everyone who helped you. Keep it short and snappy! You won’t get a lot of time up on stage, and it will go by in a flash. Read your speech out loud. This will help you find any lines that you stumble over and should rewrite to make them easier to say. Lastly, ask someone to look over your speech. I always have someone review what I’ve written. Four eyes are better than two as they say! Best of luck!
